In an attempt to expand the journal's visibility within the EMU community, Melissa changed the journal's frequency from annual to quarterly, adding 3 smaller "theme issue" chapbooks to the standard annual anthology. "Metropolyesterday Dreams" (experience and agining), "Incendiary" (women's issues), and "Ekphrasis" (the artistic temperament) were the first of these smaller issues, followed in fall 2005 by "Multiculturaldiversiality" (a celebration of the multicultural heritage of the school's community). These small theme books were very popular with both contributors and subscribers. |
